Abstract

To measure the Ankle Joint Position Sense (AJPS) due to the joint functional instability after ankle sprained, we proposed a method using ankle joint measuring device and 3D Image Measurement Technique (3DIMT) to measure the ankle joint posture and to evaluate the AJPS. First, target human sdans with his left and right foot on the ankle joint measuring device of two degree of free down; Second, to take the three-dimensional coordinate of the specific marker using 3DIMT based on Digital Still Cameras and PC; Finally, according to a specific marker of the three-dimensional coordinates to calculate the measured ankle joint posture (presumed value) and the other a ankle joint posture (setting value) to absolute difference to assess the AJPS. The experiment results show the ankle joint measuring device and 3DIMT to meet the measurement of the AJPS and for the after sprained of the ankle joint rehabilitation work to provide an effective platform and tools.
