Abstract

Various RFID measurement metrics from several organizations have been proposed during the past decade. These metrics, however, are overlapped and conflicting each other. Consequently, how to select an appropriate RFID measurement metrics is a non-trivial job. To this end, we propose a metrics set in this paper by comparing existing metrics. The metrics set involves read speed, read distance, and power attenuation, which can identify the differences of RFID system performance. Measurement based on the metrics set can be highly automated, and easy to execute in anechoic champ. We have carried out extensive experiments and the results show that the recommended metrics set is proper as the performance benchmark metrics.
