Abstract

Many Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) routing protocols are exploited to work in a specific variety of Ad Hoc Networks like Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). This paper presents a performance evaluation of two MANET routing protocols B.A.T.M.A.N and OLSR. The implementation was achieved over a Real-World WSN considering some vital metrics like Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) and Ratio Traffic Overhead (RTO) to define the performance effectiveness of routing protocols. The results show that PDR in B.A.T.M.A.N outperforms OLSR when they are working under heavy traffic scenarios. Contrariwise PDR in OLSR outperforms B.A.T.M.A.N in low network traffic scenarios.
