Abstract

A fuzzy logic modulation method is proposed to compensate for the network-induced time delays in a network-based PID control system. The scheme is based on modulating the control signal provided by the controller and applying it to the remote unit via the network. The stability of this method using a version of Hermite -- Biehler Theorem applicable to quasipolynomials is implemented. The dropout problem is examined, modeled and compensated by a new structure. Then the combination of the two problems is investigated and their effects are compensated for by a fuzzy controller.
