It is well established that the FRactional Order Hold (FROH), when properly tuned, enhances the performance of digital control systems. Indeed, FROH reconstruction can bring the zeros of the z-domain model closer to the origin than zero order hold reconstruction. This work applies numerical analysis techniques in order to obtain as stable as possible discrete zeros, upon FROH discretization of any continuous-time linear time-invariant second order and first-order plus time delay plants.
