Abstract

In this paper we propose an agent-based geosimulation approach to support "What if" analysis of COAs in Virtual Geographic Environments. An innovative part of our approach is the use of the agent-based simulation (ABS) paradigm to support qualitative reasoning about dynamic geographic phenomena. In fact, the use of ABS to experiment geographical phenomena is still in its infancy. We illustrate this approach with an example implemented using our prototype MAGS-COA.
