Abstract

This paper describes a system that consists of desktop applications for Mongolian blind and visually impaired people. The aim of the work is to build an automatic text reading applications using character recognition (CR) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) systems for Mongolian. The system's core parts, which are CR and TTS, have been implemented and given considerable results. To be as efficient as possible the applications' interfaces are created by blind people's needs. Currently, we are working on the other parts of the system.
