A home control system is presented, based on standard IP LAN techniques. The system features large flexibility, dynamic reconfigurability, fault-tolerance and low costs. An integrated hardware/software framework has been conceived, which support device interoperability, complex task management and graceful degradation under fault conditions. The system also allows for remote monitoring and control. A test site is operating, and allows for validation of the proposed approach.
