Abstract

The Robotic System for Visual Placement (RSVP) software is a novel robotic system under development. We tested the system using an approach of software development called Design, Build, Test, and Act (DBTA) integrated with aspects of V-Model testing. The goal is to certify the behavior of the embedded software system. The DBTA approach worked well as it involved the client throughout the entire design process. The iterative nature of DBTA allowed for thorough testing of each section of the software. We concluded that our testing software not only tested the functionality of the RSVP system, but also led to design suggestions for the client. In the future, we hope to expand the use of the testing software to other domains.
