There are a variety of mathematical theories for incorporating uncertainty management into database applications. This paper explores the improvements that can be applied to traditional relational databases by implementing techniques from rough set theory. In particular, the level of precision required to extract relevant data is greatly reduced, and more information is returned. Issues arising during the design phase of a real world application are discussed.
