Abstract

In this paper the adaptive and optimal control strategy for an extraction mining machine is considered. There was built the dynamic block diagram based on the systemic structure of this machine, having two parts: elevator and drive. In order to ensure the accurate movement of this machine, there is elaborated an adaptive and optimal control strategy. The strategy consists of unknown parameters identification and, based on these, the variable structure of the controller is updated so that the output speed profile is maintained very close to the imposed one. The input speed profile is set using the optimal formula that ensures a minimum time of extraction. The identification uses the gradient algorithm with the MIT method to estimate the unknown parameters of the transport process, like: time constant and gain. The adaptive control strategy is modeled and simulated to certify its feasibility.
