From cognitive radio (CR) conception, a novel joint design of frequency and power adaptation for frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) system is developed based on truncated interference inversion algorithm. In the adaptation scheme, the interfering carrier frequencies are removed from frequency hopset firstly. Then the transmitter adjusts its power to compensate the effect of interference and maintain a constant received SINR in the carrier frequencies with low interference level. The interfering carrier frequencies detection algorithm based on Bayesian theory is proposed. Average process time of interfering carrier frequencies is also analyzed. Simulation results verify that the proposed scheme can maintain the target BER performance under intensive interference.
