Abstract

This paper presents another look at the problem of frequency spectrum sensing based on energy detection in OFDM. OFDM is one of the most important techniques to improve the capacity of the channel in 3G and 4G. In order to detect the presence of the spectrum holes and utilize them efficiently withou causing interference to primary users in OFDM, spatial spectrum estiamtion is considered as the key functionality. In this paper, we proposed a new frequency spectrum estimation method in OFDM based on the detection directions of arrival (DOA) sources in every resource element (RE) band. The simulation result shows that our proposed scheme can heighten the channel utilization of CR users in OFDM.
