Abstract

Low power consumption is one of the key elements to make UWB technology be the solution for future short-range and high-speed indoor wireless communications. To face the power limitation drawback, while still maintaining significant error correction capabilities, employing cooperation into UWB communications can bring a great performance. In this paper, symbol-error-rate (SER) performance is analyzed and a joint subband assignment and power allocation algorithm has been proposed for cooperative multiband OFDM UWB systems with decode-and-forward (DF) cooperative protocol. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can save up much power consumption compared to the average power allocation scheme.
