Integration of cellular network and ad hoc network can increase the throughput significantly in a congested environment. This paper presents an experimental system of integrating ad hoc network and cellular network. In this system, an embedded hardware platform is built. The platform is based upon S3C2410 and used as communication terminal. We also transplant embedded Linux kernel and Bluetooth protocol stack to supply application interfaces. These interfaces provide convenience for connection of underlying layer and application layer. In order to allow the integration we propose a simplified routing protocol which is practical. Finally, we examine the end-to-end performance of this system. The results show that this system can support audio and video service very well.
