Abstract

In the real environment of wireless sensor networks, the variable nature of the wireless medium affects the sensor connectivity, packet loss rate and energy consumption. Considering the changeable medium, the definition of Changeable Medium Wireless Sensor Networks (CMWSN) is proposed, also designs the improved LEACH and heterogeneous mechanism in CMWSN, and performs the present and improved algorithms based on MATLAB. Simulation results prove that compared with the algorithms that do not consider environment; our algorithms of CMWSN combined with the changes of medium could balance the energy consumption, decrease the blind area and are more suitable for the practical application.
