Secure route selection is always a challenge for ad hoc networks. The paper applies trust theory into routing procedure in ad hoc networks and takes trust territories as one of routing metrics. Trust territories contain fours sets and describe different trust level. By considering trust territories, shorter and secure route is selected. Trust territories are discussed and the methods to build trust territories are given. The algorithms to compute trust value are also presented. Trust values and trust territories help to select a secure route and the trust territories are extended during routing. The malicious entities are found simultaneously.
