A modification of the robust chirp-rate estimator is proposed. The proposed technique has large breakdown point resulting in robustness to high amount of the impulse noise. In this approach, robust filtering of the polynomial-phase signals (PPS) is performed in an initial stage followed by the standard chirp-rate estimation for filtered signal. Numerical examples confirm accuracy of the proposed technique with pre-filtering in the initial stage.
