Abstract

The challenges of next generation network (NGN) are to offer better quality of (QoS) in internet Network. One important generalization of the Next Generation Network is, it's a queue of network. It is expected that traffic in NGN will undergo both quantitative and qualitative changes. Such networks can model problems of contention that arise when a set of resources is shared. In this paper, few components of NGN reference architecture have been taken and system performance is evaluated in terms average response time vs. traffic intensity. We consider a single server markovian queue and average system response time and average system delay time is evaluated. It is expected that system delay build rapidly as the traffic intensity increases. The system has an advantage to employ scheduling discipline like preemptive and nonpremptive.
