Abstract

The software development environment ObjectWorld combines object-oriented programming and visual programming to enable software reuse. A programmer, builds new objects by the direct manipulation of prefabricated visual objects appearing on the computer screen. The ObjectWorld tries to remove some of the problems identified with other visual programming attemps by the consequent application of object-oriented concepts and other ideas. A sequence of figures explains the concepts of the ObjectWorld. A simple stop-watch is assembled to give a short example of programming in the ObjectWorld.
