The purpose of this investigation focuses on the extraction of Web site access patterns. These patterns permit to establish access probabilities to Web sites, aiming at preselecting and replicating HTML files in mobile clients for disconnection handling. This approach of resource preloading in mobile clients permits the continuity of clients work without caring for the state of their connection to the network. This paper presents the results of an investigation in which three algorithms (Composite Items, Time Windows and Seer) were implemented for generating association rules by exploiting an access logfile of Web sites. Specifically the paper presents comparative results of algorithm performance, which permitted to find the best algorithm for predicting access to Web sites.
