Abstract

Fuzzy absolute and fuzzy relative orders of magnitude models are recalled. Then, the problem of the consistency of these models is addressed. The paper provides conditions under which the relation between quantities estimated in terms of fuzzy absolute labels can be expressed in terms of fuzzy relative orders of magnitude. Conversely, possible estimates in terms of fuzzy absolute labels are obtained from information about fuzzy relative and fuzzy absolute orders of magnitude.
