Uplink code-division multiple access (CDMA) multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) systems are considered in the large system limit within the assumptions of synchrony and frequency flat fading. The outage region maximizing the sum capacity of non-outage users is obtained, which extends the criterion of outage in single-input and single-output (SISO) CDMA systems.
