In this correspondence, we present statistical properties for the maximum eigenvalue of multikeyhole multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels. Our results are general for arbitrary numbers of transmit and receive antennas, and arbitrary number of keyholes of differing powers. These results are applied to study the outage performance of optimal beamforming systems and the impact of keyholes' power distribution is characterized with the aid of a majorization theory result.
