Abstract

In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in the broadcast database system where the server periodically broadcasts contents in a database to mobile clients such as portable computers and PDAs. There are three query processing methods in the broadcast database system, while each method consumes different amount of power for query processing. In this paper, we propose a new query processing method which dynamically chooses an appropriate method among the three query processing methods by considering energy consumption.
