Based on irregular UEP-LDPC codes, a modulation-assisted UEP scheme is proposed by using QPSK and 16QAM mapping, in order to achieve good tradeoff between reliability and spectrum efficiency. Simulation results show that the proposed coded-modulation scheme can improve the quality of the reconstruction image effectively in uncompressed images and Set Partitioning into Hierarchical Trees (SPIHT) coded image transmission.
