In this paper we report our experience with the extraction and formalization of the methodology for the development of self-healing capabilities arisen in the context of the recently concluded SHADOWS project. Defining a methodology for system augmentation, technology description and technology introduction is in fact a central output of the project. This methodology effort additionally aimed at enhancing the coordination between project partners, the interaction between various technologies, and the applicability of self-healing to software projects.
