Abstract

One of the challenges Wireless Sensor Networks face are handling the storage and querying the data they process. Most of the techniques currently used usually stores the data in a central database and then queries it. These techniques generate a large data flow, once each sensor sends information to the central database. An alternative to reduce this flow is to make the devices act as local databases. This approach is called distributed. The data captured by the network represent the current state of the environment; therefore they are subject to time constraints. In this paper, we propose the use of Real Time Databases techniques for Wireless Sensor Networks that use a distributed approach, so that time constraints are considered.
