Abstract

The importance of Web services has been recognized and widely accepted by industry and academic research. Dynamic service composition provides the automatic composition methods for machines, but it can't handle complex service requests. Ontology provides a large extent of flexibility and expressiveness, and the ability to express semi-structured data and constraints, and it supports types and inheritance. Based on the analysis of the main features of the service domain and combining with the definition and application of ontology, we propose the concept and definition format of service-ontology, and with the construction of service composition and corresponding algorithm, we apply it in the dynamic Web services composition. Combined with intelligent smart transcript repository and ontology repository, the architecture provides the static and dynamic composition environments to facilitate knowledge accumulation, logic inference, binding web service and creation of process driven model. The approach considers the semantics of services together with quality and efficiency of the composition. Finally, based on the prototype system to validate the approach, the results of experiment prove that a kind of service composition approach is feasible and effective.
