Abstract

Based on negation and negation as failure, in the paper, we propose a new rule language--fuzzy Nonmonotonic Semantic Web Rule Language (f-NSWRL), which suffices to represent and reason nonmonotonic fuzzy knowledge. The issue of priority is discussed and the deciding principles of priorities of competing rules are offered. To make RuleML play a role of an intermediary language when f-NSWRL interchanges rules with other rule languages, we extend RuleML to encode nonmonotonic fuzzy rules.
