In coherent orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) communication systems, pilot-symbol-assisted parameter estimation is used for estimating and tracking the channel fluctuation for accurate demodulation of data at the receiver. In this paper, modulated Lagrange interpolation is introduced for OFDM pilot-symbol-assisted channel estimation and system performance is studied by simulation for a multipath fading channel to demonstrate its simplicity and accuracy compared to linear, polynomial interpolation OFDM channel estimation. The simulation results show that modulated Lagrange interpolation can provide more accurate channel estimation than the linear or Lagrange interpolation method.
