Abstract

This paper proposes a novel method of LSP's protection and restoration in Ka-Band satellite MPLS network. An auto-regressive(AR) model-based channel prediction is used to separate the instantaneous rain fading from scintillation and detect the link failure. The correlation coefficient of rain fadings on the adjacent sat-ground links is analyzed to select an appropriate detour path for the fast reroute mechanism in the scenario of local protection. Detailed simulations show that our method is effective in rain fading environment that the MPLS protocol has not investigated before.
