Abstract

This paper addresses a comparison study of path loss at 900 MHz, for the city of Amman, Jordan. Three different models were used, namely Okumura, Hata, and Hata-Okumura, compared to the originally collected data from mobile companies at 900 MHz. We found that Okumura's model is best suited such data among the other models. Correction factors were proposed to modify Okumura's model to the measured data. Different correction factors were found for different areas. Terrain roughness and elevation were considered as the two main factors of this correction factor deviation.
