With the growing publishing of news in the Web, techniques are necessary to describe news content in order to facilitate future retrieval. The use of tags is one of the most popular alternatives to describe Web content. However, in general, tags are manually selected. This work presents the study of different automatic techniques to identify or select tags (keywords) from texts of news. The quality of the techniques is evaluated by clustering the news and then evaluating the cohesion and coupling among the resulting clusters.
