This paper describes the GARUDA Access Portal (GAP) mechanism for Grid GARUDA. GARUDA is India's National Grid Computing Initiative. Users can submit jobs to GARUDA through the web-based Graphical User Interface provided by GAP. In this paper, the authors have addressed: Grid GARUDA Architecture, the different components of GAP, the procedure for job submission, the operational challenges faced by the Heterogeneous Grid, and how the challenges were overcame.
