Abstract

In this paper, a low complexity antenna selection scheme for multi-antenna broadcast systems is developed. Using sum-rate capacity maximisation as the selection criteria, the proposed scheme exploits the duality principle of broadcast and multiple access channel in order to reduce the computational complexity. The performance of the proposed scheme under i.i.d. Rayleigh fading channel is then evaluated via Monte Carlo simulation under different system parameters, and its performance is compared to the full complexity brute force scheme. It is demonstrated that the scheme is able to achieve most of the gain available in the system with a considerably lower complexity.
