Abstract

Sensor networks have inspired a wide spectrum of novel applications in environmental monitoring, homeland security, object tracking, and home automation. Smart sensors are connected together to collect and process data needed to accomplish high-level tasks. This paper describes a high-level approach to the development of intelligent sensor networks. We propose tools and techniques allowing for rapid prototyping of sensor networks. We use ASSL (Autonomic System Specification Language) to develop intelligent sensor nodes connected in a sensor network through a communication system derived from DMF (Demand Migration Framework).
