Abstract

Recently, the cognitive radio network with the underlay transmission mode which can enhance the spectrum reutilization is gathering more and more attentions. With the development of research on cognitive radio (CR) underlay mode, transmission power control - the determination of the interference range of the CR communication pair is becoming an essential research issue. In this paper, we propose an adaptive neighbor coordinated interference avoidance power control scheme with collision free reporting protocol which can reduce the non-determinacy of the interference estimation in cognitive radio ad hoc networks. It provides the detection and protection for incumbent systems around the CR communication pair. Simulation results show that the proposed power control scheme can greatly reducle interference to the neighbor incumbent devices. A higher number of neighbor nodes leads to better protection of incumbent devices.
