Abstract

The ecosystem for a software product line includes all of the entities with which the software product line organization interacts. Information, artifacts, customers, money and products move among these entities as a part of the planning, development, and deployment processes. In this paper we present an analysis technique that uses the economic notion of a transaction to examine the transfers between the entities. The result of the analysis is data that is used to evaluate and structure the organization. We illustrate with an example.
