Abstract

MPEG-2 Transport Stream (TS) is the main transmission mode for digital TV programs. This paper provided a MPEG-2 TS authentication method which can authenticate the validity and integrity of digital television content, prevent the illegal attack. This method is based on digital signature theory and ASN.1 (Abstract Syntax Donation One) syntax. We defined a signature information packetization and transmission protocol to realize the authentication of digital television. The authentication information for signed is composed of MPEG video/audio PES packets and additional identification information. From the simulation in Windows system, this authentication method can protect the real-time MPEG-2 content well.
