The phenomenon of thermal heating of the medium voltage collector bars of plants and power stations, which enters in the electrical installations configuration of the electromagnetic systems, is a major disadvantage. This disadvantage is materialized through the oxidation of contact surfaces which has as result the increasing of the contact resistance and hence destruction conductive elements. Based on these considerations, the paper brings as novelty the thermic process monitoring working on two areas of thermal collector's bars with rated voltage of 20 kV and linked together by a longitudinal coupler switch.
