Abstract

MDA (Model Driven Architecture) provides a specification independent of programming languages, middleware platforms and vendor products. Software patterns can produce software design with high quality and program codes with high readability and maintainability. However, no effective solutions to the implementation of MDA, especially the automatic transformation from PIM (Platform Independent Model) to PSM (Platform Specific Model) are proposed. In this paper, a method for MDA implementation, especially on the EJB platform, is proposed based on patterns and action semantics. First, the application of patterns during different phases of MDA implementation are illustrated. Then the implementation method is described with action semantic meta language, including PIM designing, mapping from PIM to PSM and mapping from PSM to application program. Last, the method is proved feasible with a bank model example. The method is considered to be of evident significance to the application of MDA specification.
