Virtualization technology allows a single physical computer to run multiple isolated virtual machines concurrently. To find cost-effective ways of delivering remote labs, decentralized and centralized virtual lab approaches were explored in several information and computer technology courses. The virtual lab approaches employed different virtualization techniques, supported by native hypervisors, hosted hypervisors and container-based operating system virtualization.
