Results of a study of semantic networks from the viewpoint of the practical usage for knowledge visualization and retrieval. The capabilities of graphs with a verb at the center together with relational graphs for implementing the first-order logic are demonstrated. A language for the description of semantic networks and principles for the construction of intelligent agent to apply these rules are proposed. A program that can visualize semantic networks is described. This program is designed for teaching students the basic principles of knowledge representation in the form of semantic networks.
