Mathematical modelling and Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) are the two principal methods used for the solution of real world problems. In the present paper we attempt a mathematical description of the above processes by using principles of fuzzy logic and of uncertainty theory. Examples are also presented to illustrate our results.
