Abstract

Real-time collaborative coding is a challenge. Robust development environments are often compatible with versioning, but the versioning is not real-time; real-time editors overcome this, but lack the tools available in other environments. The heart of the problem is a lack of sufficient software that is not only collaborative and real-time, but supports compiling and running code. We create a Google Wave plugin for Eclipse to get the best of both worlds by harnessing the full power of both applications without recreating all the desired functionality.
