This article presents automated techniques supporting the verification and validation of component-based software systems by optimizing test case generation for both unit and integration testing. The underlying multi-objective optimization refers to coverage maximization and test amount minimization. The efficiency of the tool developed was evaluated in terms of coverage achievement and fault detection capability.
