Abstract

Adaptive Hypermedia is a research and development area that highlights the importance of personalization of systems for individual users in addition to simplifying the process of information retrieval. In this paper, we introduce an adaptive web-based information system that deals with the Arabic language to present Islamic history. Our system implements various adaption techniques such as: sorting, annotation, coloring, and direct guidance, and the adaptation is based on user human factors and the user interaction with the system in order to keep track of the latest user interests. We also discuss the system major components, implementation and a preliminary evaluation.
