We propose a queueing model for free space optics-radio hybrid channel. Hybrid channel is presented by a pair of alternating channels (free-space optical link and radio frequency channel). Time when optical link is/is not used mainly depends on the weather conditions and is approximated by the mixture of two exponential distributions. We consider a queueing system with alternating service rates and apply the matrix-analytical approach to obtain stationary distribution of system states and performance characteristics.
