Abstract

In this paper, we present a novel image contour extraction by ant colony algorithm and B-snake model. Using ant colony algorithm, an initial curve of B-snake is get, which rapidly converging near image edge. When the Bsnake begins to iterate, new control points are inserted, which can enhance the flexibility of B-snake to describe complex shape. A minimum energy method minimum mean square error (MMSE) is proposed for B-snake to push it to the target boundary. The experimental results demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of our method.
